Tatyana
Teacher of Russian as a foreign language
Success stories
My name is Tatyana and in 2016 I completed the major “Russian as a Foreign Language”. Only three years have passed but my life has changed greatly. I got a chance to work not only in the best universities of the Nizhny Novgorod region but in universities abroad as well. For two years I have been working in China, at the Xi'an Railway Survey and Design Institute - one of the largest professional institutions in Shaanxi Province.
Moving to a new place is always very exciting, especially when you move to another country with a completely different culture. But this gives you not only professional opportunities and new goals, but it teaches you to live independently because there is no one else you can rely on. There are no acquaintances, no relatives, no teachers who can give you some advice, and you learn to adjust to new realities. For instance, you can get lost in a multi-million megalopolis and find the right way without knowing the language, without having a map. Besides, you learn to make new friends. They may be from different countries, you may not understand each other very well from time to time but you learn to communicate and build long-lasting friendship.
Teaching in China is strikingly different from what I’m used to in Russian universities. But knowledge, skills and experience that I acquired at Minin University helped me to adjust to the situation and form a new curriculum designed for Chinese students. I can definitely say that Russian is highly demanded in world. So, if you are a competent specialist who loves his profession, then you can find work almost anywhere in the world. After all, Minin university is a great start for any journey, even if this way takes thousand kilometers to go!
